Real estate follow-up text and email generator

Pick the lead source and get a ready-to-send 14-day follow-up plan of texts, a call and emails, written for buyers or sellers.

The lead

This plan works best when the first text goes out within 5 minutes. Closing Scale sends it in under 60 seconds, day or night, and runs the rest of the plan for you.

Why a 14-day plan

Most new online leads are not ready to talk on day one, and many go quiet after the first message. A short, friendly plan over two weeks catches them when they are ready, without sounding like a robot. After that, a monthly touch keeps you in mind until they are ready to move.

Rules that make follow-up work

  • Reply in minutes, not hours. The first text matters most. See the speed-to-lead calculator.
  • Ask one easy question per message, so replying takes a few seconds.
  • Mix channels: text, a call and an email reach different people.
  • Give before you ask: listings, recent sales, a price range.
  • Stop politely after the last message and move them to a monthly update.

Texting compliance

Texting someone who just contacted you is normal, but automated marketing texts in the US need clear consent, and you must honor STOP requests. If you send texts from a business number through software, your provider will also need your business registered for texting. Check with your broker about your process.

Hosting an open house? Make a sign-in sheet with a consent line first.

Questions people ask

How do you follow up with real estate leads?

Reply within 5 minutes, then follow a short plan over the next two weeks that mixes texts, a call and an email. Ask one easy question each time and share something useful, such as listings or recent sales.

How many times should you follow up with a lead?

About 6 to 8 touches over the first 14 days works for most online leads, followed by a monthly update. Stop sooner if they ask you to.

What should my first text to a new lead say?

Introduce yourself, mention how they found you or what they asked about, and ask one simple question, such as whether they would like to see the home this week.

Should I text or call new leads?

Both. A quick text lands within seconds and is easy to answer. A call the next day builds a real connection. Some people only respond to email, so include that too.

Can I send these texts automatically?

Yes, with a CRM that supports automated texting, as long as you have consent and honor opt-outs. Closing Scale sets this up for agents.
